Benjamín Gísli Einarsson (b.1996) is a young aspiring pianist and composer from Iceland who merges his lyrical introspective style with his background in jazz and classical music. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the prestigious jazz performance studies at the Trondheim Music Conservatory (NTNU, Jazzlinja) in 2022. As well as being active on the Norwegian and Icelandic scene, playing regularly at the main jazz festivals and venues, he has released two well received albums with Bliss Quintet and Bento Box Trio. Benjamín’s trio, Benjamín Gísli Trio, is set to release their debut album Line Of Thought in August 2023.

In 2022 his trio Bento Box Trio were finalists in “Jazzintro”, the selection of "young jazz musicians of the year" during Molde International Jazz Festival, in Norway. Benjamín has also received an award from Árni Scheving memorial fund, awarding young talented jazz musicians from Iceland.

Benjamín is currently living in Copenhagen on an exchange semester at Rytmisk Musikkonservatorium as a part of the European Jazz Master program at NTNU. In the autumn he will be moving to Amsterdam to study at Conservatorium van Amsterdam before returning to Trondheim in 2024 to finish his Master’s studies. Benjamín also runs the Trondheim based record label Fjordgata Records with his friends, releasing young ambiguous artists in the Nordic soundscape.
